Philip Lethlean is the principal designer for Melbourne based: Light Designs Australia.

Philip’s 30+ years of experience is founded in theatre and extends to designing lighting for all art forms and genres .

His works have consistently enjoyed Australian and International seasons.

2017

 

MELBOURNE COMEDY FESTIVAL

Lighting Design for the Oxfam Gala , Opening Night Gala Comedy Allstars Supershow at the Regent Theatre,  and the Great Debate at the Melbourne Town Hall. All events were televised on ABC.

THE SLEEPING BEAUTY La Bella Dormente by Ottorino Respighi ,  directed by Nancy Blackand conducted by Phoebe Briggs for Victorian Opera, the Playhouse Arts Centre Melbourne and the Theatre Royal, Hobart.

BMW Dinner event for IMAGINATION held at the State Library , Melbourne.

THE AGE OF BONES presented by Performing Lines/ Teatre Satu/Satu Bulan Theatre co-production. La Mama Courthouse as a part of Asia TOPA. Toured to Canberra and Sydney.

 

2016

600 DEGREES, 100 YEARS IN THE SHADE. A site  specific public performance and fire event heldnear Creswick. The event was created by Rebecca Russell and designed by Ken Evans.

ART & INDUSTRY FESTIVAL directed by Donna Jackson for the City of Hobsons Bay, including Western Lights, IF Industrial Fashion at the Williamstown Town Hall, TOYOTA Mega Factory, and SPARK at SEAWORKS.

SWEENEY TODD The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Lighting Designs for NZ Opera directed by Stuart Maunder, with musical direction by Phoebe Briggs and designed by Roger Kirk. The Civic Theatre in Auckland, St James Theatre in Wellington and the Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch.

THE JAKARTA AQUARIUM PROJECT Jakarta. Lighting consultancy

MOUNTAIN to MOUTH 2016, directed by Meme Mac Donald,  including the Ceremonies on the Geelong foreshore for GEELONG AFTER DARK and at Barwon Heads.

30th MELBOURNE COMEDY FESTIVAL Lighting Design for the Oxfam , Opening NightGala Comedy Allstars Supershow at the Palais Theatre, the 30th Birthday bash at The Regent and the Great Debate at the Melbourne Town Hall.
